Overview
Your NAS (Network Attached Storage) or DAS (Direct Attached Storage) server stores video footage from your security cameras. If the server goes offline:
- Cameras may stop recording
- Live or historical video may become unavailable
- Monitoring, reporting, and data retention may be affected
This guide will help you restore your system and ensure continuous video recording.
Step 1: Check the NAS/DAS Status
Before troubleshooting, verify whether your server is still operating:
- Check via the Berry AI Security application.
- Look for:
- Active recording status
- Any error indicators
- Check the LCD display on the NAS/DAS unit:
- It should show the IP address and system information

Step 2: Restart the NAS/DAS Server
Restarting the server can often resolve connectivity issues.
- Unplug the power cable from the back of the NAS/DAS server
- Wait approximately 30 seconds
- Plug the power cable back in
- Check the LCD display:
- Confirm it shows the IP address
